Andrew spent Monday through Friday last week in California working on a shoot for the 49ers. So we actually had a bit of a somewhat relaxing weekend, which I think we all needed! The girls were soooo excited to have him home. On Wednesday night, Lily told me at bedtime, "I miss my daddy on the plane." It was so sweet. Not sure if she thought Andrew was on a plane flying around for an entire week or what. But she couldn't have been more adorable.
Yesterday, Ella had one of her soccer clinics and then we spent the afternoon somewhat relaxing around the house. We had a family movie night (our first one in at least a month, if not more) where we watched The Borrowers (1997). It was actually quite entertaining for all of us. I was surprised Ella and Lily were so enthralled with it. They watched the whole thing without getting antsy. That's quite a feat! Usually Lily loses interest less than a half hour in. The young Borrower was the actor who plays Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies and the actor who plays Mr. Weasley was an exterminator. John Goodman also stars and Hugh Laurie (also known as Dr. House) has a small role. Anyway, we definitely recommend this one as a good family movie!
Today, we FINALLY made it to the Arboretum with the Roselands to take their family pictures. I snapped over 200 pictures of them in several settings and ended up with about 40 really good pictures for them to pick from. It was a lot of fun. And the kids (especially Emilee) were really good sports! The girls and Braeden came back to the house to relax and play a bit while Shawn and Andrew played nine holes of golf.
All in all, a fun relaxing weekend! Hope you all had a nice weekend too!
Edited to add: We had a great Fourth of July weekend. An update will be up when we return to MN at the end of the week. Right now Andrew and I are living it up in Chicago for a few days while the girls stay with Tom and Pat in Racine. Hope you all had a great 4th!!!
