Finally--July in a nutshell

Okay here's what I'm going to do. I'm just going to list what we did in July and attach one or two photos. Maybe that will make me feel caught up and not so far behind on the blog. :-) Sorry if you miss my usual wordy commentary. But perhaps, once I get caught up, I'll be able to post regularly again.

So here goes:

We traveled to Racine, Wisconsin to spend the Fourth with Andrew's family. While there we went to the zoo and fed the giraffes. We ran into Andrew's cousin's family while we were there.

We saw the fireworks in Sturtevant on July 3rd.

Went to the parade on the morning of July 4th.

And more fireworks on July 4th, over Lake Michigan. We watched them right from the pier, so you can see the reflection of them in the water. It's very cool!

Then Andrew and I went to Chicago while the kids stayed with Bubba and Grand Pat. I visited the tourist sites in Downtown while Andrew attended a conference.

Can you spot me in the Bean? ;-)

Andrew went fancy schmancy go-carting during the conference.

That's me and my friend Misty at dinner. We met up after not seeing each other for seven years!

Back in Racine, we visited the zoo one more time. This time with Aunt Sue. And Ella got to feed pelicans and the giraffe one more time. Lily declined to feed the animals. ;-)

Back home to MN after that. I took some pictures of Ella and Lily meant to be their 3-year and 5-year pictures. Here are a couple for you:

Okay, really, that's only the first two weeks of July. I haven't uploaded the other pictures from the camera yet. So I'll do that today and do Part Two of this post. Then maybe I'll even have time to update the photo site too. :-) I apologize for the last couple months photos having all that white around them when I post on here. Shutterfly has redone their site and when I upload from there to here, that's what I get. I guess I have to go back to uploading the full images from my desktop. When I do that, it may take a bit longer for them to load.

Hope you all are having an enjoyable summer!
