Cheapy Craft

Remember when I said you can get some crafts for super cheap? Well, Lily and I made a trip to Michael's last week to restock our craft bin and found some fun little project. These mosaic critters were only $1 each! The girls really had a good time making them and Lily is now saying the turtle is her pet turtle and she feeds it and puts it in her play kitchen sink so it can be in the water. Very cute! Ella made a kitty and started a monkey.

(Random craft note: If anyone else attempts these cute little critters, I attached the "extra" parts--limbs, eyes, ears, etc--with a hot glue gun. I've found that elmer's glue does not work well with this foam material.)

Those last two are Ella working on her monkey and her monkey impression. :-)

And we also got a Foamies egg decorating kit. Lily decorated a few eggs while Ella worked on her monkey (which she inevitably grew bored with and did not finish). We'll probably do a few more of these this week and then hang them up on our deck window.

If you can't tell by now, almost all of Lily's artwork consists of smiley faces. :-)

I'll have to try the hot glue gun. That glue they include with those kits is terrible.

You should see Jenelle's monkey impression. It's quite good.
