Summer Fun

Just thought I would update you on a few of our activities from the last month or so. July 20th we hosted a picnic for the Anderson (maternal) side of my mom's family. We had about 35 people at our house for grilled hot dogs and hamburgers plus all the traditional picnic fare. We had a fun time visiting with family members we hadn't seen in a while and Ella and Lily had fun playing with some new little kids.

Ella finished up cheerleading camp the second week of July and they put on a little routine for the parents. It was very cute! I was going to videotape it and put it up here. I went back home after dropping her off just to get the camera because I had forgot it. Then, I tried to record and the battery was dead (typical blonde moment for me). So just photos for you.

Top row: Ella is in the back second from left in the first photo. And the first in the back in the second photo. Bottom: She was the only one in the camp to master doing a hand-stand! And Ella is the spotter in the back of the group shot.

We've had a few regular playdates this summer. One has been with Ella's friend Emma from down the street. They were in preschool together this past year and her mom and I carpooled. Here they are having some fun with the whale pool. They get together to play about once a week and we rotate houses.

Ella's soccer clinics are almost over, we have one more. But she has really gotten pretty good and seems to really like it. We signed her up for the fall soccer league and we'll see how she likes that. It starts in two weeks. She is also in an ABCs art class at the Community Center this month. And they are both still enjoying "gym camp", a day camp at My Gym once a week. We've still been having our family movie nights on Sunday evenings. You can see our list of feature films here.

Next up on the Isaacson agenda: backyard camping, Cindy and Shawn's pig roast, Hope and Isabelle's birthday party, and camping for real near Duluth, MN. Never a dull moment around here!
